SHS athletics make GADA list

The combined athletics teams at Swainsboro High School have collected enough points to earn a prestigious spot on the Georgia Athletic Directors Association Dodge Directors Cup Final Standings List. The purpose of the GADA Dodge Directors Cup is to recognize those athletic departments in all GHSA classifications who have excelled and shown superior performance. Since the 1999-2000 school year, the GADA has presented this award annually.

Twenty-five Georgia High School Association sport are counted in the standings each school year. Each school's eight highest scoring sports for each gender are counted in the Directors Cup Standings. Swainsboro is ranked 16th among all Class AA schools in the state. Standings for the GADA Dodge Directors Cup is published on the GADA Website at www.gadaonline.net.

Athletic Director Shane Williamson stated, "It is a great achievement for Swainsboro High School to be on the GADA list. This is an honor for me as Athletic Director. I would like to thank all of the community supporters for allowing our athletic program to be one of the best in the state."

SHS Principal Wayne Greenway applauds all of the hard work done by the coaches and student athletes. Greenway adds, "Swainsboro High School has a great athletic program and this recognition is a product of team unity among the administration, teachers, coaches, and student athletes. We are fortunate to have Shane Williamson as our athletic director. His dedication to all of the students at SHS is of the highest caliber."
