Robert "Bobby" Gordon Odom, 36

LAWRENCEVILLE-- Funeral for Robert "Bobby" Gordon Odom, 36, was held Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Peebles-Curry- Durden Mortuary with Rev. Tom Kinchen officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville from injuries received in an accident.

Mr. Odom was born in Richmond County but lived most of his life in Lawrenceville. He was a construction worker, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winder and was an avid animal lover and active in animal rescue and finding homes for animals. He was preceded in death by his father, John Fredrick Odom and his grandfather Captain John G. Hunter.

Survivors include his parents, Gail and Trap Bowen of Newnan; grandmother, Ruth Hunter of Swainsboro; aunt and uncle, Ruth Ann and Tom Kinchen of Graceville, Fla.; uncle and aunt, Pat and Thelma Hunter of Ashville, N.C.

Pallbearers were Grant Nunnally, Brad Dispain, Wes Usher, Steven Ryder, Alex Kinchen and Frank McKenzie.

Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the American Humane Society or the charity of your choice.

Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
