Swainsboro man dies in wreck A 30-year-old Swainsboro man died after losing control of his car early Saturday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Gerald R. McKenzie III was traveling eastbound on Ga. 26 just before 3 a.m. when the he lost control and the vehicle left the road, according to a radio operator working out of the Swainsboro patrol post. His car then hit a utility pole and overturned, causing McKenzie to be ejected, the radio operator said. McKenzie was the sole occupant of the vehicle. (See Obituaries this week.)
