Alvie E. Scott Sr., 77

WAYNESVILLE, MO.-- A Masonic Lodge #375 AF& AM service for Alvie E. Scott Sr., 77, will be held Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Chapel of Waynesville/St. Robert, Mo. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery. He died June 8, 2007 at Life Care Center of Waynesville. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Scott was the son of the late Alvie Tennyson and Mary Adele (Lamb) Scott and was born June 5, 1930 in Swainsboro. He grew up and attended school in Swainsboro. In 1947 he moved to Jacksonville, Fla., where he did various jobs in customer service and automotive repair before getting a job at National Airlines refueling aircraft, loading baggage, and serving as a senior agent in his 25-year career.

He married Mildred Virginia Kinzey in 1950, and to this union one daughter, Virginia Carol was born. In 1954, Alvie married Marcella Jean Newman. He and Jean shared 21 years of marriage and one son, Alvie, Jr. was born. Jean preceded him in death in 1975. He was a member of the Highlands United Methodist Church, and the Francis T. Hurlbert Masonic Lodge # 259 AF & AM in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Scott.

Survivors include Carol Cooper and husband, Jim of Lilburn; Alvie Scott, Jr. and wife, Carey of Waynesville; six siblings: Bill Scott and wife, Martha, and Ennis Scott and wife, Betty, all of Swainsboro; Connie Cholar and husband, John of Wren; Carol Sue Davidson and husband, Richard of Macon; John Scott and wife, Sandra of Jacksonville, Fla.; and Mary Alice Greenway of Kite; four grandchildren: Alvie Lee and Shelby Ann Scott and Andrea (Cooper) Holland and David Cooper; and one great- granddaughter, Tessa Leigh Scott.

Memorial Chapels, Waynesville/St. Robert-- Richland had charge of arrangements.
