SHS tennis has successful season The Tiger Tennis teams, both girls and boys, have had a very successful season this year. They worked hard from the beginning of the season with their goals set high. Both teams were seeded at the region level before competition began. Due to such great play and finishing at the top half of their region, their actions sent them into the state playoffs. This was an accomplishment that had not been achieved in many years at SHS. The girls were seeded 3rd while the boys were 4th. The girls' first round of state play found the tigers traveling to Savannah's Bacon Regional Park where they played Savannah Christian Academy. They fell to the strong SCA team but went down fighting. The girls will be losing four seniors to graduation including Livia Morris, Danielle Farthing, Gena Garrett and Haley Lawson. Three juniors, Rachel Mc- Neely, Erin Garrett, and Lacey London, and one sophomore, Macey McIntyre will be returning next year. The boys' first round of state action sent them on a long road trip to Brantley County where they faced a strong number 1 seeded team from the southern region. They fell short in their battle. The boys will be losing three seniors including Philip Schwabe, Javier Nealy and Michael Chrysosferidis, while leaving the team with two juniors, Ty Gillis and Tyler Youmans; sophomore Drake Oglesby and freshman Owen Bailey.
