As the Tigers began last week, they knew what stood before them. The Tigers played a series of three games last week. Out of the three games, two of the games would decide if the Tigers could clinch the region title.

Tuesday, April 24 was the Tigers' first obstacle, a game against Screven County. Screven County has not been too successful this season with a 7-5 region record, but they are not a team to underestimate. Justin "Bubba" Newsome was the starting pitcher for the Tigers. The Tigers took the lead early when Austin Peebles hit a grand slam. As the game wore down into the final innings, the Tigers kept a comfortable lead of 4. At the top of the 6th, Screven started closing the gap. Going into the bottom of the 6th the score was 7 to 6, Tigers. There was no doubt that Screven had the momentum of the game. One hit changed it all when Derek Webb hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the 6th. The score was now 8 to 6 and that would be the final. Newsome received the win and Webb received the save. Chris Keyton went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's against Screven.

The Next game was played on Thursday against Toombs County. All Tigers that were on the line-up got a hit. Shot Scarboro received the win and Wade Farrow closed the game. Javec King went 2 for 3 and Austin Peebles went 3 for 4. Wade Farrow went deep with a 3-run homer. The final score was SHS-11 and Toombs County 4.

The Tigers have already won the region game against Screven, now they needed to win the region game against Laney. Webb was the first to work from the mound. Newsome came in later with the save. Webb not only received the win but also went 2 for 3 with a 2-run homer. Shot Scarboro went 2 for 3 with a solo homerun. Cody Kersey went 1 for 3 with 4 RBI's. After a close played game the Tigers sealed the region championship by beating Laney, 9 to 7. The Tigers will began the state playoffs Friday, May 11.
