Sgt. James L. Jordan, 42

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Deputy James L. Jordan, 42, was held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at St. Phillips Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Holloway officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery.

Sgt. Jordan was born on July 22, 1964 to the late Lizzie Lee and Otis Jordan Sr. He was a member of Brown Chapel Baptist Church and later, Lester Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of Starlight Spirituals Gospel Singers and Gospel Singing Association. He was employed with Emanuel County Sheriff's Department and was also an investigator for Wadley Police Department. He was a member of Georgia Peace Officers Association and the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, East Central Traffic Enforcement. He graduated from Swainsboro High School and Armstrong Atlantic State University with a certificate in Peace Keeping. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carrie and Jimmie Lee Brantley Sr. and Maudie and Albert Forrest; and eldest brother, Otis Jordan Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Natalie Michelle Cooley Jordan; twin children, Ja'Rell and Aeriell Jordan of Swainsboro; a sister, Denise L. Jordan, brother Michael Jordan and twin brother, Paul B. Jordan of Swainsboro.

Pallbearers were Earl Deas, Cpl. Wendell Bell, Det. David Way, Dr. Anthony Howard, Rev. Isiah Stephens and Henry Foots. Honorary pallbearers were members of Emanuel County Sheriff's Department and Wadley Police Department.

Mosley's Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
