Mary Reid, 59 STILLMORE--Funeral for Mary Reid, 59, was held Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Holy Zion Holiness Church in Twin City. Burial was in the Stillmore City Cemetery. She died Sunday, April 15, 2007. Mrs. Reid was a native of Emanuel County. At an early age, she moved with her family to Miami, Fla., and attended Booker T. Washington High School. She was a minister and a member of Holy Zion Holiness Church in Twin City. She served a Mayor Pro Tem of Stillmore for four years and on the Stillmore city council for three years. She was the mother of seven children. One son, Thomas Byrd, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Johnny Reid of Stillmore; a son, Johnny (Vanisha) Reid of Twin City; six daughters, Stephanie (Emmit) Byrd and Shirley (Larry) Hobbs of Metter; Katrina (Derrick) Gordon of Jacksonville, Fla.; Charity Reid, Mary Reid, and Kimberly Reid of Stillmore; her stepmother, Margaret Woods of Stillmore; 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Whitaker Funeral Home in Metter had charge of arrangements.
