"Some 45 teenagers and adults from Swainsboro High and Middle Schools will culminate a semester's work in the production," said Sandy Aldridge, director. "Leading the cast are several veterans of the stage. Among them are senior Austin Bolay as the city boy who moves to a small farming town with his mother, and sophomore Heather Freeman as the rebellious preacher's daughter who falls for him. They are joined by juniors Whitney Bush and James Wilkerson as supporting characters who provide dramatic contrast to the two leads." Other performance veterans on the cast include Ashlee Youmans, Daniel Porter, Kas Burris, Bryan Wilson, Wendy Stegall, Quantavius Foster, Tiffany Lane, Iesha McGruder, Aniya Moore, David Porter and Cat Thompson. Newcomers are Chelsea Oglesby, Jordan Thompson, Jessica Dooley, Jana Kirkland, Rod Williams, Danielle Dudley, Kelli Clarke and Michael Durden. Directors Aldridge and Talmadge Smith Jr. perform acting roles as well as direct the show. Dabney Edenfield also directs. All three teach at SHS and are seasoned leaders in the performing arts. Other staff at SHS who have roles are Donald Jenkins and Gayle McKenzie. Miriam Edenfield is house manager. The production staff is led by guest artist Stephanie Smith, who serves as stage manager. Felicia McNear is directorial assistant and is costume chief. Others on the team include Crue Conley, Whitney Calhoun, Zach Henry, John Wilder Page, Whitney Ware, Jess Bush, Mac Barron, and Leah Rehberg. For more information, contact a director at SHS.
