Jimmy Dell Worthen, 64 SWAINSBORO- Funeral for Jimmy Dell Worthen, 64, was held Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1 p.m. at St. Phillips Baptist Church. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died March 16, 2007 after a brief illness.

Mr. Worthen was born in Swainsboro March 16, 1943 to the late Jim Worthen and Laura Reid Worthen. He was a deacon and a member of William Grove Holiness Church. He was the owner of Worthen's Cleaning Service, a bus driver for Emanuel County Board of Education and Commercial Management Corporation. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Louise Wright and Helen Bell; and two brothers, Albert Worthen and Troy Worthen.

Survivors include his wife, Rev. Ella Mae Worthen of Swainsboro; three daughters, Sabrina Cooper of Swainsboro; Sharon Bonds and Sheila Franklin of Fayetteville, N.C.; three sons, Jimmy Dell Worthen Jr. and Jamie Worthen of Swainsboro; and Jonathan Worthen of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Alma Parker and Ella Worthen of Swainsboro; 10 brothers, William Worthen, George Worthen, Marvin Worthen, Danny Worthen, Leroy Worthen, Dennis Mason, Jimmy Seabrough and Paul Weaver of Swainsboro; Terry Worthen of Dublin; and Tommy Worthen of Savannah; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Eric Phillips, Tony Lloyd, Milton Graham, Derrick Phillips, Kenneth Scott and Timothy Nobles. Honorary pallbearers were John A. Harris, Ollie Johnson, Leroy Phillips, Watus Coleman, David Coleman and Lawyer Johnson.

had charge of arrangements.
