Nominees named for Tech president Three nominees have been named by the Department of Technical and Adult Education (DTAE) for the presidential position at Swainsboro Technical College. In alphabetical order, the nominees are: 1. William L. Calhoun (Larry), currently interim president at Georgia Aviation Technical College in Eastman. He is vice-president for educational services. 2. Dr. Abraham Pallas, executive director of Academy of Allied Health Programs at Lake City College in Lake City, Fla. 3. William "Bill" Roden, associate dean of College of Business at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wis. Interviews were conducted by senior staff from DTAE and by Interim Commissioner Ron Jackson. A recommendation will be made at the next State Board of Technical and Education meeting in Thomasville on April 5. A press release will be issued that afternoon. Dr. Glenn Deibert, former president of Swainsboro Technical College, was named president of Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville last year. He assumed his position there on Sept. 1, 2006. Dr. Richard Thornton was named acting president of the college at that time.
