BUBBA NEWSOME WORKS FROM THE MOUND

On March 20, the Swainsboro High School Tigers stood face to face with the Augusta Patriots. Justin "Bubba" Newsome was put on the front lines against the Patriots. Newsome received the win and only gave up one run. Derek Webb was the big stick against Westside going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Shot Scarboro also contributed to the win with an RBI. The final score was Tigers-3 and Westside-1.

This past Friday, the Tigers menu had chicken on it. The Tigers defeated the Screven County Gamecocks 9 to 2. Derek Webb received the win and was relieved by Wade Farrow. Webb, Shot Scarboro, and Austin Peebles all went 3 for 4 and had 3 RBI's.

The Tigers are number 1 in their region with a region record of 4-0. Tied for second in the region is Metter and Westside with a region record of 3-1. The Tigers will host Jefferson County this Friday and will host Vidalia next Wednesday.
