The Swainsboro High School FFA Ag Communications and Environmental Natural Resources teams competed in State Career Development Events. The events were held at the FFA camp in Covington on March 17.

The Environmental Natural Resources CDE is designed to develop an understanding of our state's natural resources, while allowing students to explore and prepare for possible careers in Natural Resources and Environmental Science. Team members tested their knowledge in GPS usage, wildlife and tree identification, and soil conservation. The Ag Communications team members competed in an editing and knowledge quiz, and gave a presentation over recruiting members.

FFA is a national organization of over 449,000 members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. FFA is an integral part of the agricultural education program in public schools. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Tim Parker is Swainsboro High School FFA advisor. Agriculture Career Development Event is sponsored by the Georgia FFAFoundation.
