Letters To The Editor

DEAR EDITOR:

My name is Eugenia Cleveland Williams. My mother's maiden name was Leta Mae Hart. Her parents were George and Elizabeth Hart.

I would like to give a little background on my mother's family. They lived in Emanuel County in the Garfield-Twin City area. My mother was born in June 1911. My Grandmother Hart died when mother was a baby and Grandfather Hart died a few years later. My mother was raised by her sister. I don't know how many there were, but one was named Lottie. My mother's family and a Johnson family were friends and neighbors in the Garfield area.

The Johnson and Dasher families were related by marriage. A Mr. Dasher was a postmaster in our small community of Fowlstown just south of Bainbridge for many years. I think this is the way my parents met. They were married in 1932 and lived in Decatur County all their married life of 54 years.

I am requesting of your readers if they have any information about the Hart family--where they lived in Emanuel County or elsewhere, where they came from, but most importantly, where they might be buried. I would be grateful if they would contact me at my address. I have wanted to put flowers on their graves for a long time. EUGENIA C. WILLIAMS 528 Robert Stephens Road Bainbridge GA 39819
