Durden is new CFO at EMC

Emanuel Medical Center has welcomed new Chief Financial Officer

CFO) Rhonda Johnson Durden to the hospital's administration.

"Rhonda has an extensive background in this role and brings a wealth of knowledge with her," said Len Daugherty, CEO. "Emanuel Medical Center faces a broad array of financial challenges, and we believe Rhonda is the right person for this position."

As CFO of the facility, she is responsible for all financial oversight throughout the hospital. She will also work with contracting issues with insurance companies and healthcare providers.

"I welcome the opportunity to improve the financial position of Emanuel Medical Center and assist in assuring its strong presence in Emanuel County," said Durden.

Most recently, she served as CFO for Lanier Health Services in Valley, Ala. She has more than nine years of healthcare finance experience.

Durden holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Georgia Southern University and is a Certified Public Accountant in Georgia and Alabama. Originally from Emanuel County, she was employed at EMC as controller from 1998 to 2002. She and her husband, Odie, recently moved back to Emanuel County. The Durdens have two children, Phoebe and Jacob.
