Kersey promoted in Coast Guard

KERSEY
Rudolph Kersey was recently promoted to Electrician's Mate Master Chief Petty Officer on March 1. Kersey joined the military in July of 1980. He graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1979.

The advancement ceremony took place at the United States Coast Guard Command and Control Engineering Center located in Portsmouth, Va.

Kersey lives with his wife, Lisa Kersey and two daughters, Jessica, 14 and Caroline, 7 in Gloucester, Va. His son, Matthew Kersey, joined the Coast Guard in 2006 and is presently attending Electronics Technician "A" School in Petaluma, Calif.

Kersey was promoted to become the Command Master Chief and senior enlisted engineer onboard U.S. Coast Guard's newest Great Lakes Ice Breaker, the Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw, WLBB-30, home ported in Cheboygan, Mich.
