Bertha Lee Youmans Chapman, 90

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Bertha Lee Youmans Chapman, 90, will be held Wednesday, March 7, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Peebles Curry-Durden Mortuary with Rev. Earl Roberson and Rev. Bunny Hudson officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Heritage Health Care of Swainsboro after an extended illness.

Mrs. Chapman was a native of Emanuel County and retired from Crestons Manufacturing. A member of Southside Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Neal "Jack" Chapman; son, Gerald Chapman; brother, Elmo Youmans; sisters Lucille Watkins, Marguerite Johnson, Ruby Lieupo; and brother, Herman Tapley.

Survivors include two daughters, Hazel Jones of Swainsboro; and Ann Casella of Watertown, Mass.; a sister, Elizabeth Frost of Adele; two brothers, Earl Tapley of Waycross; and Terrell "Joe" Tapley of Colbert; eight grandchildren, Jerry and Debra Jones, Leo and Regina Tomsu, Christopher Jones, Bryan and Yvette Nasworthy, Ralph and JoAnne Herrero, Steven Casella, Tracy Chapman, Heather and Wes Cowart; eight greatgrandchildren, Brooke and Edmond Marsh, Brianna Jones, Dillon and Dawson Sprague, Jared and Cole Jones, Kayden, Avery and Myranda Nasworthy, Tyler Herrero; and two step-great-grandchildren, Zack and Zane Herrero.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Watkins, Dwayne Edwards, Harry Jones, Harold Claxton, Edmond Marsh and Eric Hood.

Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
