DEAR EDITOR: After reading the article about the embezzlement scheme in last week's issue of The Forest-Blade, I am very upset. Upset because it happened, but more upset that it could happen. Who audits the Board of Education (in house or other State/Federal audits)? How could this happen? Sounds like someone was not doing their job auditing the county taxpayer money! My county taxes for the Emanuel County schools were more than my county taxes. So, yes, I am very upset and as a taxpayer, we all should have the answers on how and when this happened!!
