Step up! No matter how many disclaimers we run in our editorial pages, it never ceases to amaze us how some people expect us to print anonymous letters or those without an address and phone number. We require this information for our records and for verification. Simple as that. When we get a letter signed by a fake person with an address that does not actually exist, the letter goes into our wastebasket. Simple as that. As a strong defender of freedom of speech and of the press, we WILL print anything that is neither slanderous nor libelous. But, in order for us to do that, all potential letter writers out there need to step up to the plate and claim personal responsibility. | |||||
