Wommack is STAR student

ROGERS, WOMMACK (SYSTEM WINNER), LEVIS, TURNER, ELIZABETH KRAUS
Mandy Kirby Wommack of Emanuel County Institute has been named Emanuel County's STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) Student System winner. The announcement was made at the annual luncheon held at Edenfield House Inn March 1. Wommack selected Glenn Turner as her STAR teacher.

Thomas Lane Fulghum of David Emanuel Academy and Jennifer Lee Rankine of Swainsboro High School were also honored at the STAR luncheon. Sally Grover and Dabney Edenfield were the respective teachers chosen by Fulghum and Rankine.

STAR Recognition Luncheon is sponsored by Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce and Merrill & Stone Attorneys At Law. Among those attending were Ken Warnock, chairman of the Chamber; Bill Rogers Jr., executive director of the Chamber; Wendy B. Jordan, executive assistant at the Chamber, and Crystal Glisson, assistant. Also in attendance were John Levis, representing Merrill & Stone; and Butch Frye, Emanuel County School Superintendent; and parents, principals and counselors of each student.
