Gunter to speak at Piney Grove MBC

GUNTER
The annual Black Awareness Program of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Cross-Green Community will be held Sunday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. Theme this year is "Using Slavery to Freedom: Africans in the Americas." Guest speaker will be Robert Bernard Gunter.

Gunter is a 1988 honor graduate of Swainsboro High School. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology and received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering with focus on RF engineering. During the last 12 years, Gunter has worked in the telecommunications industry, beginning his career as an amplifier designer for Motorola in Arlington Heights, Ill., and later becoming a consultant for Galaxy Engineering Services.

Most recently, he has become an independent telecommunications consultant. He resides in Stone mountain with his wife, Doryiane, and their 2-year-old daughter, Cyrah Camille. His parents are Amanda and Ralph Brown of the Cross- Green Community.

Also appearing on the program will be Jesse and Martha L. Mitchell, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Nu Upsilon Omega Chapter, piney Grove Youth Department and Piney Grove Choir.
