Arts mural

The Emanuel Artists Guild has received the Keep Emanuel Beautiful Beautification Award for the "Celebrate the Arts" mural. Painted on the Young Fashions building in Swainsboro, the mural is a tribute to the Arts Emanuel Festival which takes place in the fall. Designed by Guild member Jean Gray Drake, the work includes handprints of visitors to the 2006 event and depictions of the varied activities that take place during the festival. Drake oversaw the project which includes work by artists Alan Brasher, Joan Dunn, Neil Kalmanson, Candy Powers, B. J. Williams and Daphne Walker.
