Drug traffickers netted

According to Emanuel County Sheriff J. Tyson Stephens, on Friday evening, Feb. 2, Emanuel County Sheriff's deputies, agents from East Central Georgia Drug Task Force, Georgia State Troopers, and Chatham County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit were conducting drug interdiction operations on I- 16 in Emanuel County.

Around 8:45 p.m., officers stopped a grey Chevrolet Impala for a traffic infraction. During the traffic stop, drug dogs alerted on the vehicle and officers subsequently found approximately 20 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. The vehicle and drugs were seized and the occupants of the vehicle were arrested and transported to the Emanuel County Jail where they are currently being held without bond on charges of marijuana trafficking.

Arrested were Jarrod Kimbler (24), of Savannah; and James Delone Stanley (23), of Savannah. The case remains under investigation by authorities.
