More 'Dancing with Stars'
Chelsie Hooks and Luis Machado will be one of the couples dancing that night. Chelsie is the daughter of Linda and Jerry Hooks and is currently attending East Georgia College. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She enjoys ballet, tap and jazz. Luis Machado is a tutor with Emanuel County Board of Education Migrant Program and a trainer at CPR Fitness. He has been dancing since he was a teenager and enjoys tango and disco dancing. Another dancing couple will be Chad and Jill Canady, who have been married for seven years and have three daughters, Lauren, 6; Olivia, 3; and Ella Kate, 10 months. They met in Atlanta on the dance floor. Chad asked for a dance and two years later they were married. They enjoy all types of music and their favorite dances are swing and shag. Pilot Club of Emanuel County, in association with Emanuel County Sheriff's Department, recently launched Project Lifesaver, a program that uses transmitters to locate people with brain related disorders who are lost after wandering from home. Such disorders include Alzheimer's, autism, Downs Syndrome, traumatic brain injury or other developmental delays. Clients will wear the transmitters on their wrists like watches or on their ankles. Personnel of Emanuel County Sheriff's Department received special training in using the mobile tracking system, and in dealing with persons who might be frightened and suspicious of strangers.
