Extension offers invasive weed control class

Emanuel County Extension Office inviting local landowners to attend a class on Controlling Invasive Weed Species to be offered on Tuesday, Feb. 6. The class will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Varner 4-H Center on Electric Drive. Dr. Dave Moorhead, University of Georgia Extension forester, will present the program.

Participants will be introduced to several new species of weeds such as Cogongrass and Japanese Climbing Fern. They will also be given control recommendations for common hard to control species such as privet, Kudzu, Chinese Lespedeza, and Wisteria. Landowners wanting to attend this informative educational meeting should call the Emanuel County Extension Office at 237-1226 by Monday, Feb. 5 to preregister for the class.
