Stuck truck in downtown Swainsboro

On Saturday, Jan. 27, a little after 1 p.m., this truck from Advantage Truck Leasing was attempting to turn right onto East Main Street in Swainsboro from South Main Street when it became lodged between the permanent awning of the Tax Commissioner's office. The driver, Ricky L. Henderson of Augusta, said he was making sure he did not hit the pole but did not notice how close he was to the awning. The vehicle struck the awning and caused damage to the awning and the trailer attached to the truck. No injuries were reported. (Photos by Jacquie Brasher.)
