DEA Lady Eagles win two games David Emanuel Academy's Lady Eagles won two games over the weekend to improve 9-7 overall for the season. On Friday night the Lady Eagles defeated Providence Christian 48-18 in Port Wentworth and on Saturday afternoon DEA cruised by Nathanael Greene 41-28 in a home non-region game. Macy Fagler poured in 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in the win versus Providence which improved the Lady Eagle's record to 2-3 on the season. "We really came out and set the tempo early with our press and forced some turnovers that led to points and a lead that we never relinquished," said Coach Andy Callaway. Amanda Cardell with seven points and Gabrielle Story with six points scored in the win as did Laura Cardell, Casey Claxton, Bonnie McNeely, Jessica Wimberly, Brittany McNure, and Chatonna Powell who all scored tow points and Jessica Cook who scored one point. "It was good to win a region game on the road and have everyone get some playing time. This was definitely one of better efforts this season," said Callaway. Fagler again had the hot hand as she pumped in 21 points and pulled 10 rebounds in Saturday's win over Nathanael Greene. With those 21 points, Fagler increased her varsity career points to 977 as she closes in on the 1000 point mark. "When Macy is on her game she is as god as you will find," said Callaway. "We ask a lot of her but she never complains about that. She just shows up and works hard every day at practice and during the games." Jessica Cook and Laura Cardell each had five points and Amy Wells, Sarah Morris, Gabrielle Story and Casey Claxton all finished with two points for DEA. Once again we were able to get everyone in the game which was important after playing an afternoon game following an away night game" said Callaway. In B-team action last week it was DEA taking a 34-10 win over Providence Christian. Courtney Johnson led the way with ten points followed by Brittany McNure with nine, Julia Euskirchen with six, Courtney Cook with four, Blythe Morgan and Nichole Williams with two each and Nikki with one point. DEA will play at CCA this Friday and at Bulloch this Saturday with the varsity girls starting at 6:30. The B-team girls will play at Bulloch this Saturday starting at 4 p.m.
