B.J. Snell Jr., 61
Mr. Snell was born in Bibb County and was an Air Force veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Army National Guard, serving during Desert Storm Operation and also retired from the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety. He was a member of the American Legion Post 103, was appointed by the Governor as security officer at the 1996 Olympics and appointed to serve on the Georgia Drug Task Force. He was also a member of the Sons of the Confederacy and was member of McLand Baptist Church in Powder Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, B. J. Snell, Sr. and Julia Smith Snell. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Moore Snell of Swainsboro; two daughters and sons-inlaw, Ronda and Chris Holder of Greenville, S.C.; and Stephanie Hadden and Harold Albert of Statesboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Alicia Snell of Swainsboro; six grandchildren, Ryan and Austin Holder of Greenville, S.C.; Lauren and Brittney Hadden of Statesboro; and Weston and Jacob Snell of Swainsboro. Pallbearers are Terry Brown, Kenneth Brown, Bennie Williams, Chan Strange, John Price, Tyson Stephens, Henry Curl, Dennis Mason and Carroll Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are members of American Legion Post 103 and the Swainsboro Army National Guard.
