DEAR EDITOR:

This is the first time ever for me to write to a newspaper, but after last Friday I feel compelled to do so.

My son's girlfriend's dog, Tuffy, was hit last Friday on Community Avenue by an automobile. I would like to let the person who hit Tuffy know that he is alive, but barely. I understand he is only a dog to you, but I was taught (maybe my parents were wrong) that you should let someone know, so they could get care for the animal.

I hope you sleep well, because I haven't, knowing that someone like you is so insensitive. ROSBY MCKENZIE Swainsboro
