Paige Henry signs with Brewton Parker College
"Her individual work ethic is the best I've ever coached," Brett said. "It's unbelievable. She has a batting cage at home and works really hard. At one point, she was batting almost .600" "I've worked very hard over the years," Henry said, adding she's played all over the field but enjoys outfielding the most. She started playing teeball as a youngster, picking up softball in the ninth grade when she began attending TJA. Henry began playing fast pitch as a sophomore when the school converted from slow pitch. That year TJA's softball team made a Final Four Appearance at State. In her junior year, the team was a region runnerup and she received the Best Offensive Player award. Henry has been an All-Region player both her junior and senior years. In Henry's senior year she was named All-State, a member of the GISA Allstar Team, and played on the Southern Outlaws travel team from Dublin. This past softball season was the highlight of Henry's high school career. Her overall batting average for 2006 was .500 and she had 18 RBI's. Henry's batting average for her entire high school career was .383. Henry is the first softball player from TJA to sign a fast pitch softball scholarship. She is going to continue her softball career at Brewton Parker College this upcoming softball season. After graduating from Brewton- Parker, she plans to attend the Medical College of Georgia and become a physician's assistant. Statistics were provide by TJA and The News and Farmer.
