Jamie Oglesby, 68 TWIN CITY--Funeral for Jamie Oglesby, 68, was held Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary with Rev. Lawrence Gerald and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial was in Old Canoochee Cemetery. He died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 at Emanuel Medical Center. Mr. Oglesby was a native of Emanuel County. He was a member of Twin City Church of God. He was a member of Ridgeway Lodge #104 in Garfield, member of the Alee Temple and a member of the Eastern Star. He was a jail officer with Emanuel County Sheriff's Department, and a former police chief of Twin City and Sardis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Sarah Bishop Oglesby. Survivors include two daughters, Stacie Nation of Allen, Texas; and Fran Jones of Killeen, Texas; his sister, Sarah Francis Farrow of Midville; two brothers, Bernard Oglesby of Swainsboro; and Bob Oglesby of Pooler; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Henry Oglesby, Randy Farrow, Don Ray, Richard Bishop, Wes Bishop, and Mike Ray. Honorary pallbearers were the Emanuel County Sheriff's Department and Ridgeway Lodge #104 in Garfield. Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
