According to Police Chief Johnny Shuman, an altercation involving two females occurred at the intersection of Racetrack and Church streets after the Martin Luther King Day Parade Monday, Jan. 15. Jaquise Williams was charged with failure to render assistance and leaving the scene. Shandreka Jones was taken to Emanuel Medical Center for injuries sustained in the altercation.
According to the police report, Jones approached Williams' vehicle and grabbed her shirt. Williams then drove off with Jones still holding on to her. Jones eventually let go and fell to the ground. Both Jones and Williams claim that the other is the aggressor. The case is still under investigation.
