Tyson Stephens, on Monday Jan. 15 at around 3:30 p.m., Emanuel County 911 received a call from Toombs County about a shooting that occurred near the Emanuel- Toombs county line. Deputies and investigators responded to 2031 Griffin Ferry Road to investigate the call. The victim had been taken to Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia and was suffering from a gunshot wound. Apparently Lawrence H. McCullough, Jr. of Toombs County shot the victim, Delwyn Outlaw of Emanuel County, who returned fire wounding the suspect. Both individuals were hospitalized following the incident. Warrants are pending in this continuing investigation.
