By ANDY CALLAWAY

Clifford Byrd tossed in 18 points as David Emanuel held off an upset minded Trinity Christian team 46-40 last Saturday in Dublin. With the win, DEA improved to 11-0 on the season and will face defending state champion Robert Toombs this Friday in Lyons in a big GISA region 2-A contest.

Jared Flowers had eight points and seven rebounds while Dawda Njie and Logan Salter each finished with six and Casey Clark and Joseph Sparks each had four points.

"I am pleased that we were able to go into a hostile environment against a very sound AAbasketball team and come out with a victory. We needed a game like this to find our character," said DEA Head Coach Stacy Sikes.

Trinity kept the game close by playing a deliberate style of play and slowing down the tempo.

On Friday night, DEA cruised to an easy 68-22 win over Thomas Jefferson to improve to 3-0 in region play. "It was a game that a lot of people were marking on their calendar," said Sikes. "It has become an intense rivalry between the two schools. Dawda came out with an intensity that I had not seen before out of him. His 15 boards by halftime really set the tone for the game."

"Logan Salter really picked up his game to a new level tonight" said Sikes. He really made everyone else on his team better by his play tonight. It turned into a total team effort that I'm proud of."
