Jennings Turf hosts Media Day

On January 4, Phillip Jennings Turf Farms and Pennington Seed hosted a Media Day Send Off Celebration. Governor Sonny Perdue made the first signature of the turf, after addressing the guests.

Guests from the National Football League included Ronnie Stapp, Ed Mangan and George Toma. Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irwin, Rep. Butch Parrish, Emanuel County Sheriff Tyson Stephens, Emanuel County Development Authority Executive President Andy Riley, Swainsboro Chamber of Commerce President Bill Rogers and other local representatives were in attendance at the celebration.

Emanuel County will be "present" at Super Bowl XLI in Miami, on Feb. 4, with Phillip Jennings Turf Farms supplying Pennington's Princess 77, a find textured hybrid Bermudagrass variety, for Super Bowl XLI. hillip Jennings, III, a 1979 graduate of East Georgia College, is owner and president of one of the largest producers of turfgrass in Georgia and the largest exporter of turfgrass in the nation. Jennings Turf has exported turf to over 30 different nations around the world. The farm operates in four counties including Emanuel, Toombs, Treutlen, and Washington with over 200 employees. Jennings Turf Farms also grew the turf for Super Bowl XXXIX, as well as several golf courses around the nation.
