Hilda Cason Kight, 50 OAK PARK--Funeral for Hilda Cason Kight, 50, was held Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Rev. Hilda O'Neal, Rev. Allen Meeks and Rev. Jimmy Cason officiating. Burial was in Pendleton Springs Baptist Church Cemetery near Oak Park. She died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007 in Candler County Hospital in Metter as a result of an accident a year ago. Mrs. Kight was a native and lifelong resident of Oak Park. She was a hairdresser and was in the first graduating cosmetology class at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia. She was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Leah Kight of Savannah; a son, Peyton Collins of Swainsboro; her mother, Vernery W. Cason of Oak Park; a brother, Rev. Jimmy Cason and wife, Susan of Statesboro; and a nephew, Rev. Allen Cason. Pallbearers were Greg Kight, Randy Kight, Monty Collins, Jim Beecher, Mickey Lindsey, Donnie Collins and Buck Wilson. Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Park United Methodist Church, c/o DoRee Phillips, 409 Ninth St., Vidalia, GA 30474. Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia had charge of arrangements.
