Folk Artist supports Sunshine House

CAROL DONALDSON, JIM JOHNSON, LORAINE JOHNSON
The Sunshine House CAC depends on contributions from a variety of sources to fund it program of services to child abuse victims. The end of 2006 was no exception as Georgia Folk Artist Jim Johnson donated a print to The Sunshine House in Swainsboro. In addition, Johnson has pledged to contribute a portion of each additional print that is sold.

"The vividly colored print entitled Sunflowers in the Morning is from an original painting and part of a delightful collection from The Sombrero Man," said Sunshine House Executive Director Carol Donaldson.

"Decorators will be delighted to find a source for whimsical, brightly colored subjects in what we would described as a particularly child-friendly and joyful collection of work that extends from original paintings, prints, and wool area rugs," stated Mrs. Donaldson.

"With themes from nature including tropical animals, birds and fish, we hope someday to have at least one print from other works to hang in our other office sites."

"We would like to have Mr. Johnson come down to exhibit some of his work in the communities we serve," added Donaldson. If there is interest, contact Donaldson at 478-237-7801, or the artist directly.

"In addition, this gift is a reminder that we need the talents and contributions from adults everywhere to help children and families devastated by abuse. All donations support direct services to help abused children heal," said Donaldson.
