Cecil Carlos West, 78 ROME—Funeral for Cecil Carlos West, 78, was held Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Allen Meeks officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome. Mr. West was born in Wrightsville and had lived in Rome for the past 55 years. He had retired from Fox Manufacturing in Rome and was a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by daughter, Lisa West Williams. He was of Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Nell Hopkins West of Rome; sister, Doris McMichael of Huntsville, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Michael Williams, Wesley Williams, and Andrew Williams of Rome, Ga. Pallbearers were Michael Williams, Wesley Williams, Andrew Williams, Scotty Hall, and David Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Mr. West. Tomlinson Funeral Home of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements.
