Sara C. Sutherland, 75 MACON--Funeral for Sara C. Sutherland, 75, was held Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 at 4 p.m. in the Martha Bowman United Methodist Church with Rev. Lanny Early, Mr. Keith Holmes and Mrs. Lydia Sutherland officiating. Burial was private. She died on Dec. 6, 2006. Mrs. Sutherland was born in Bibb County, member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, worked with the children's choir for over 20 years. She was a member of Lizella Chapter of Eastern Star and a graduate of Mercer University with a master's degree in education. She was the widow of Ray G. Sutherland and the office manager with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She was preceded in death by her step-grandson, Marcus Hall. Survivors include her sons and daughters-inlaw, William M. “Smokey” Sutherland and Lydia E. Sutherland of Macon; Peter K. Sutherland and Brenda Sutherland of Swainsboro; David R. Sutherland and Cindy Sutherland of Missouri; granddaughters, Kayla and Kelly Sutherland, both of Swainsboro; and brother, O.H. Carstaphen II of Macon. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Sutherland's name to Jay's Hope Foundation, 1013 Porter Circle, Gray, GA 31032. Crest Lawn Funeral Home of Macon had charge of arrangements.
