Adrian Royce Harrison, 77

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Adrian Royce Harrison, 77, was held Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Blankenship and Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at his residence.

Mr. Harrison was a native of Pierce County, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He retired as manager with Champion International Company in Nunez and Lumber City. A member of the First Baptist Church, he had served as Sunday School teacher, deacon and was implemental in founding the Care and Share Ministry. He was member of the Steadfast One Sunday School Class, an active Gideon, and had served on the Executive Board of the Georgia Baptist Convention. He was a member of the Swainsboro Exchange Club, had served on the Emanuel County Hospital Authority Board, the First Federal Savings and Loan Board and was past president of Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Howard Harrison of Swainsboro; two daughters and sonsin law, Nancy Harrison Sutton and Bill Sutton of Savannah; and Sherry Harrison Fletcher and David Fletcher of Marietta; one sister, Virginia Harris of Patterson; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Fletcher and Harrison Fletcher of Marietta; and Rebecca Sutton, Betsy Sutton and Will Sutton of Savannah.

Pallbearers were John Scott, Tommy Purvis, John Claxton, David Morgan, Sid Shepherd, William Johnson, Dr. Jimmy Ray and Freddie McVey. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Steadfast One Sunday School Class, Swainsboro Gideon’s, members of the Swainsboro Exchange Club, Grady Collins and Daniel

Peavy.
