ECI falls short in playoffs

WASHAUN EALEY RUNS THROUGH A DEVIL
The ECI Bulldogs have had an incredible season this year, but it finally came to end this past Friday night. The Bulldogs faced off against the Hawkensville Red Devils for the first round of playoffs. ECI might have lost but they showed their bulldogs spirit all the way to end. When asked about the season, Coach Milan Turner said, "Thank the Lord for the chance. This season has made an impact. Thanks to our seniors who have now set the standard for future bulldogs. They did a great job." The end result of the game was a four point loss of 6-10.

The game started out with a bang when both teams collided at center field. Both teams were hungry for win and neither were going to just let the other score. It was Hawkensville though that made it into the endzone first, scoring before the first quarter was even over. The Devils managed to then kick a field goal in the second quarter and the score was now 10-0. Neither team was able to gain many yards without being stopped by the other. The Bulldogs worked hard but did score until the fourth quarter.

This season has been filled with a lot excitement and emotional ups and downs. The senior players now have something to truly brag about; never in over twenty years has an ECI team been undefeated and region champs. Their team has definitely set a high standard for future teams to live up to. They raised the spirits of a whole town like never before. They earned the respect of their coaches, fellow players, the town, and other teams. Throughout the season they have learned much about themselves as individuals and as a team. They will take these lessons with them through the rest of their lives. No one can take away from them what they have accomplished.
