'Carols on the Square' slated Nov. 30

Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce and Emanuel Arts Council will host "Carols on the Square" Thursday, Nov. 30 at the Boneyard at 5 p.m. The event is to kick off the holiday season in Emanuel County.

Organizations are inviting choir members and singers from across the county to gather at the Boneyard at 5 p.m. Under direction of Betsy Johnson, the group will perform at 5:30 p.m.. singing many holiday favorites. Accompanying the group will be John Neighbors on the organ.

Hot chocolate will be served during the event and the public is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Santa Claus is expected to make a guest appearance.

"We are excited about this event and hope it's a wonderful time as we begin the Christmas season," said Bill Rogers Jr., Chamber executive director. "Everyone is invited to attend."
