Dobbin to read from novel

DOBBIN
Marjorie Dobbin of Vidalia will be reading from her newly published novel, In the Shadow of Pickle Peak, at Franklin Memorial Library on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 10:30 a.m.

"This book, published by PublishAmerica, is a fast-moving inspirational romance that contains no gutter language, casual sex or embarrassing scenes," said Ann Buxton, assistant manager. "The author gives an insider's view of what can happen when a big city woman moves to a small town. Coping with the lack of pre-prepared meals, clothes dryers and other modern conveniences, she confronts a hostile sheriff."

Marjorie Dobbin was a professor of English at Brewton Parker College from 1987 until 2001. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 1987. Currently retired, Dobbin is an adjunct professor of English at Southeastern Technical College, Vidalia. She is the wife of

A. B. Albritton and has lived in the Mt. Vernon-Vidalia area for 20 years. Dobbin is currently working on her second novel.

The event is open to the public.
